Project Insight’s Asia Regional Partner Receives First PfMP Certification in India

IRVINE, Calif., June 24, 2014 – Project Insight announced today that Ashish Sadekar, director of India-based ProThoughts, its Asian Regional Partner, has received one of the first Portfolio Management Professional certifications ever awarded in India.

PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) is the newest certification from PMI (Project Management Institute) which recognizes the advanced skills and knowledge of portfolio managers. Among the many aspirants who appeared for the first PfMP certification, PMI selected around 100 portfolio managers across the world and Mr. Sadekar was among the first few recipients in India.

PMI’s Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) credential recognizes the advanced experience and skill of portfolio managers who have demonstrated proven ability in the coordinated management of one or more portfolios to achieve organizational objectives.

PfMP® credential holders are responsible for the execution of the portfolio management process, communication around portfolio progress, and recommendations for action. Where project and program managers are responsible for “doing work right,” this is an ideal credential for those responsible for ensuring organizations are “doing the right work.”
