Project Management Software Discussions

Making it Easier - Part I

I think we can all agree that the way project management software (or any software for that matter) is rolled out to a team or an organization makes all the difference in the world. You can have the best, most customized to your process software at your fingertips, and if no one is there to input the data, enter time or log the hours...then your executives or project managers will have no reports, no budget information, etc. Now, I am by no means an expert on how to implement software, but from a user's standpoint, I can easily let you in on what has worked for me- the standard team member. So I'll post five things that made things easier for me in five separate posts- chances are they'll be apply to a lot of other team members out there too.

Stay Consistent -

Everyone organization has their own process or methodology they follow. There seems to be project management software for almost every industry or methodology out there- but with all of the project manager terms and jargon out there...it can be confusing and go straight over a team member's head. If you're going to use official PMBOK terms, consistently use them- you can never introduce a new vocabulary word too many times. Make the new terms part of the team member's jargon.
