R.W. Smith & Company Integrates Project Insight Software

R.W. Smith & Company integrated project budget information from Project Insight’s hosted service to the back end of its accounting system.

R.W. Smith & Company used Project Insight’s Web Services APIs to perform an integration to their back end accounting software in five days. The Web Services APIs act as a middle layer for programmers to code to. Once an hour, project time entries are passed to the R.W. Smith accounting software, so the accounting department has real-time access to project budgeting and cost information.

“We were impressed with how rapidly our developers were able to perform the integration. Instead of writing code to the data tables, they were able to write the code to Project Insight’s Web Services. Within a week and under $5,000, we had financial data passing from Metafuse’s hosted service to our accounting system, which is behind our firewall. It was the most painless integration I have ever experienced,” said Eric Gildenhuys, general manager of R.W. Smith & Company.
