Project Insight Adds New Project Management Webinars

Project and portfolio management software, Project Insight is partnering with Core Performance Concepts, Inc. to offer a refreshed curriculum of 23 unique project management webinars for 2012. This is the fourth year that Project Insight has joined forces with Core Performance Concepts to provide their customers and the general public with the opportunity to continue project management education at the convenience of their own desk. This year, the webinar series has been revamped with the addition of 13 brand new topics. Core Performance Concepts is a project management and leadership training provider and a Registered Education Provider (REP) of the Project Management Institute (PMI®), the non-profit standards body of the project management industry.

The project management webinars are offered twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesday. The first webinar of the month is a fundamental course, which are basic project management courses that can benefit those without any formal training. It may also be used as a refresher for those already with a Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential for professional development units (PDU®) credits. The second webinar is an advanced course, for project managers and project team members with more experience. The advanced topics can also be used as a refresher and applied as a PDU®. New additions were made to both the fundamental and advanced project management training webinars.

Challenges
Before Project Insight, the project team at Armada used an in-house project management system; however, as the company expanded, they outgrew that solution. As a significant portion of their employees work from remote home offices, it was mission critical for all project information to be accessible online. The organization also needed a good way to track and report on time at a very detailed level. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) decided to find a more robust project and portfolio solution.

Solution
Armada selected Project Insight because the software:

The project and portfolio software was implemented with a small team of project managers, but as the company expanded, so did the number of team members. Results
Today, the entire project team at Armada uses Project Insight on a daily basis. Project specific reports are run weekly to evaluate the status of all projects across the company. Project Insight Releases Version 9.3

The focus of this software update was to make Project Insight more customizable while maintaining the same high level ease of use. Project Insight is a mid-market online project management software that allows experienced project managers and new team members to access real time project data from any supported browser.

Project Insight version 9.3 includes over 20 new features and fixes. All new additions to the project software enhance the navigation experience for the end user. For example, project managers may add team members as resources to a project directly from the project add/edit form, reducing the number of clicks when initiating a project in the software. Time Warner Internet Outage

Time Warner Cable is not the supplier for Project Insight connectivity and may not be your Internet supplier either, however, they are a major backbone provider. Any connectivity attempting to route through their services may experience a disruption to Project Insight access. We are monitoring the status for further problems. Currently, it appears to be intermittent and of no consequence to Project Insight data integrity.

Project Insight Imports Users From Excel

This feature was part of the Project Insight's latest release version 9.2. It can be tedious and time consuming to enter long lists of team members one at time. Now by importing an entire list of users from an Excel file, adding resources to Project Insight is quick and simple.

To shorten the time it takes to get new project team members in Project Insight, now you may import a list of users from Excel. When exporting an Excel template from Project Insight, there is a 'default user import' option. However, administrators may utilize the 'display options' to add or remove columns creating a customized Excel template for use with the import. In order to ensure an accurate import, once a list has been imported into the project management system, the administrator validates the list before officially saving it to the system. At the Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions in Mission Viejo, California on June 25, West qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the men's 200 meter breaststroke with a fifth-seeded preliminary time of 2:20.65, just missing the men's 35-39 200 meter breaststroke FINA Masters world record of 2:20.29. The U.S. Olympic Trials time standard is 2:20.79.

According to an interview with Swimming World, West's record was previously held by Wally Dicks, who was 37 when he qualified for and swam at Trials in 2000 in the 100 ***. West, an all-American at the University of Michigan, has swum at Trials before, previously competing in 1992, 1996 and 2000, placing third in the 200 meter breaststroke in 1996. West currently swims for the Irvine Novaquatics Masters Team and previously swam with Coach Dr. Dave Salo on the Irvine Novaquatics National team through the 2000 Olympic Trials.

West co-founded Metafuse, Inc. in 1996, the year that he was training for the 1996 Olympics. He had just graduated from the University of Michigan, where he had been a member of the NCAA championship swim team. ESBG Design is a boutique firm with a big reach and a global reputation. It is a common hurdle for most organizations to successfully implement time tracking and expense entry on current projects.
