Export to Microsoft Project using xml format

When exporting project files from Project Insight to Microsoft Project, the only file format that works is ".xml"

Your computer may not automatically recognized that file format as a MS Project type file. Let's fix that!

View the video above to watch me follow along to these steps:

  • Click the Export to MS Project xml option
  • Tell the browser to show the file "in folder" or "open folder"
  • Right click the file and select the "Open with" option
  • If you see MS Project as an option, move down to the last step
  • If not, click "Choose another app"
  • If you see MS Project as an option, move down to the last step
  • If not, click "More apps"
  • If you see MS Project as an option, move down to the last step
  • If not, click "Look for another app on this PC"
  • Search "winproj.exe" in "This PC" or "C://" drive
  • Select MS Project application and set it to "Always use this app to open .xml files"

Do this once and you won't need to make this selection again! Totally worth it!
