IRVINE, CA, April 19, 2016 – Steve West got an early birthday present this year when Swimming World honored him as being one of the top 12 World Masters Swimmers of the Year for 2015. Swimming World gives the award to six women and six men each year for the past 12 years. The winners are based on setting world records and selected by an expert panel.
The reason we mention his birthday is because he was the oldest male to qualify for the Olympic Trials in 2012 at the age of 39. This year, he is going to try to qualify again, at the seasoned age of 44.
