Update your Tasks

Task status updates are the first and foremost method of communication in Project Insight. You tell your team how far along you are when you update the Task's Work Status. This is especially important when you finish a task or you are working on a task for longer than a week. If you already use your Dashboard, Home Screen, or Task Detail screen to know what's on your plate for the day and leave comments, why not update your Status at the same time?

Where can I update my Task's Status?


  1. Dashboard
    • You'll see all the tiles you have chosen for your Dashboard
    • Review your Tasks in the Task tile

    • Click the Status name to invoke the status layer

    • Update your status, enter a comment, and enter time all in one place - yay!!

  2. Home Screen
    • You'll see the icons you have chosen for your Home Screen

    • Click the Tasks icon to see your Tasks layer
    • Click the Status name to invoke the status layer

    • Update your status, enter a comment, and enter time all in one place - w00t!!

  3. Task Detail Screen
    • Anywhere in Project Insight, click the name of the Task to visit the Task Detail Screen

    • Check out the top section of "General Information" where you'll see a link to the Work Status
    • You'll see a layer to update the Work Status

    • While you're here, you can also update Comments, Time Entries, or any other Task-level details

Please note: You may see "Percent Complete" as the field name in the place of the "Work Status" fields above. When it comes to updating your task, these fields are interchangeable. Update your task. That's all we ask. Percent Complete is a numerical estimate, whereas Work Status is a drop-down menu to help you estimate how far along you are.
